Organized in Larissa, on Tuesday 01 November with great success the conference entitled:

“Energy analysis and optimization of the operation of wastewater treatment facilities and water supply and drainage networks in D.E.Y.A.”

The Conference was organized within the framework of the Information and Publicity Actions of the research group for the action “RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE” and the program that is being developed from 2019:

“Energy analysis and optimization of the operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants in order to reduce the energy footprint and greenhouse gas emissions” T1 EDC 00284

During the conference, organizations from the Greek area who have extensively dealt with the issue exchanged their views on energy management issues in WWTP but also in all the water supply and drainage facilities of D.E.Y.A. and the final results of the project were presented. Multiple benefits arise from the action for the optimization of operation and cost reduction of the WWTP’s. and D.E.Y.A., as well as the calculation of their energy footprint that must be calculated under the new requirements of the legislation and international pressures to reduce it.

The conference was welcomed and delivered by the President of E.D.E.Y.A. and the Mayor of Rethymno G. Marinakis, the Mayor of Larissa A. Kalogiannis and the Director of D.E.Y.A. Larissa D. Savvorginakis. In addition to the research bodies, Mr. K. Kotoulas, Director of Sewerage Facilities at E.Y.A.Th., participated as speakers. S.A. and Mr. I. Karagiannis, Head of the Psittaleia Sewage Treatment Center Service, from E.Y.D.A.P. S.A. with very interesting presentations of their own energy policy.

Finally, L. Papavasilopoulos Head of the Sub-Directorate for Management and Implementation of Special Development Programs and B. Stamatis Head of Unit A1 for Management and Implementation of Special Development Programs from E.Y.D.E. Ministry of Internal Affairs they informed about the possibility of financing related projects and exchanged information and opinions with the interested parties.
