Sub-contract 1

Within the framework of the 2nd and 3rd sub-contracts of the EYATH framework agreement, services have been provided for the deodorization of the Central Sewer Pipe of Thessaloniki (ΚAA).

In recent years, the project “Construction of the 2nd branch of the Central Sewerage Pipeline (ΚAA) of Thessaloniki from well 50N to the Thessaloniki Waste Treatment Facility (EELTH) has been underway on behalf of the Special Service of Public Works (EYDE), in the context of which the projects are also being studied relating to the deodorization of the Central Sewerage Pipeline (KAA).

The deodorization projects are a key element for the operation of the Central Sewerage Pipeline and the Thessaloniki Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The study was conducted at the level of a preliminary study and an application study and presented some local interventions in strategic manholes with specific characteristics and history, along the length of the KAA, as well as a larger capacity deodorization system at the end of the KAA, where there is a large polluting gas load. Hybrid bioremediation/activated carbon systems were suggested.
