The scope of the contract included the preparation of the environmental studies of the projects:

• Construction of Thermopylae and Vasiliki Roundabout
• Roundabout at the junction of Papapostolou and Arkadiou streets

in order to carry out the required environmental licensing of the projects.

The purpose of the projects was the improvement and upgrading of the prevailing traffic conditions in it and in the wider area of its influence, as well as an assessment of the degree of achievement of the satisfaction of the requested requirements, with the application of these traffic regulations.

Construction of Thermopylae and Vasiliki Roundabout

The project concerned the construction of a level interchange of Circular Traffic (K3) at an existing intersection between Thermopylae, Gennimata, Giannitsiotis, Dervenakia and Vassiliki streets within the city plan of Lamia, to replace a signalized (with light signaling) level interchange. It also concerned the construction of the electric lighting network at the new roundabout, as well as the electric lighting of Giannitsioti Street up to its intersection with Michali Papamavrou Street.

This belonged to the group Group 1 “Land and air transport works”, serial number 16, “Urban artery” and is classified as Class A2 (the whole).

The purpose of the project was the improvement and upgrading of the prevailing traffic conditions in it and in the wider area of its influence, as well as an assessment of the degree of achievement of the satisfaction of the requested requirements, with the application of these traffic regulations.

The project under study belonged to the group Group 1 “Land and air transport projects”, serial number 16, “Urban artery” and is classified in Category A2 (the whole).

In addition, as part of the contract, a Special Environmental Assessment was prepared in the context of the project “Upgrading the building facilities of the historical information center of Thermopylae”.
