Hydromanagement Ltd conducted the design project for the Leachate Treatment Plant of Tagarades Landfill site in the region of Thessaloniki.
Due to discharge in a sensitive receiver, significant reduction of the leachate loading was required. This was accomplished with the implementation of processes, which remove the organic load as well as nitrogen and inorganic solutes.
The main units of the plant are:
- Leachate pumping station – transportation to the WWTP via pressure pipeline
- Aeration and equalization tank
- Sloping plate sedimentation tank
- Reverse Osmosis unit including filtration process prior to RO
- Reverse Osmosis unit including filtration process prior to RO
- Sludge storage tank
- Sludge dewatering unit (band filter)
- Administration building
The installation units can process supply greater or equal to 200 m3/d.
The study was conducted for BILFINGER BERGER Baugesellschaft m.b.H., which was the contractor of the project.
